Rollin’ home from my job yesterday, like so many times before,
Pulled my car up on into the drive.
Feelin’ tired and worn out from all the push and shove and the keepin’ score,
I’m finally home but barely alive.
Made my way inside, stopped by my mailbox, grabbed all my mail,
More and more junk I receive all the time.
Just before it gets tossed in the trash I see something that makes me stop and look twice,
And here are the words that, blew my mind.
You’re pre-approved, that’s what the letter said,
Pre-approved, those are the words I read, you’re pre-approved.
After dinner it’s time to unwind, forget my stressful day,
But those words just would not leave me alone.
Then all at once it hit me, exactly what they were trying to say,
I guess that a part of me, had always known.
I’m pre-approved, that’s what the letter said,
Pre-approved, those are the words I read, I’m pre-approved.
No more living in fear of rejection,
I’m quitting this game of win or lose.
Saying hello to a brand new direction,
Now I know I’ve got nothing to prove.
You’re pre-approved, that’s what the letter said,
Pre-approved, those are the words I read.
You’re pre-approved, that’s what the letter said,
Pre-approved, those are the words I read,
You’re pre-approved.
